Please read carefully the following important points regarding the In-person/Online End-of-term Assessments and In-person Examinations of Semester 1, 2021-22:
A. Tentative Timetable for In-person/Online End-of-term Assessments & In-person Examinations
The tentative timetable for In-person/Online End-of-term Assessments (Assessments) and In-person Examinations (Examinations) for Semester 1, 2021-22 (from 17 December 2021 to 4 January 2022) is attached for your reference.
Please check the date and time of the assessments and examinations of your enrolled courses carefully. If you find timetable clash which you have two assessments/examinations scheduled at the same time, please notify Mr. Tang at 3923 7072 on or before 6 December 2021 for possible rectifications. Late reports will not be considered. Please note that students who fail to take an assessment/examination due to timetable clash will not be granted make-up examination and will receive a “Fail” grade for the course concerned.
The finalised timetable will be released by 8 December 2021 via Student Course and Record System (SCORE). Relevant notices will be posted on the Learner Portal nearer the time.
In-person/Online End-of-term Assessments (Assessments)
Regarding the in-person/online end-of-term assessments of your enrolled courses, details of the assessment arrangements (such as end-of-term assessment schedule, submission channels and instructions, etc.) should have been posted on SOUL by respective Course Coordinators/Lecturers. Should you have any enquiries on the assessment arrangements, please consult your Course Coordinators or Lecturers as soon as possible. You could also contact the College Office (tel: 3923 7000; email: enquiry@hkuspace-plk.hku.hk) for assistance if necessary.
For the in-person end-of-term assessments, student must present themselves to attend the assessments at the designated venue which will be posted on SOUL by Course Coordinators/Lecturers concerned. Please refer to the below table for the list of courses with in-person end-of-term assessment:

Students who are required to attend examinations should also refer to Part B of this notice “Key Dates for Make-up Examinations” for the make-up examination arrangements and Part C of this notice “Regulations and Conduct” for the examination regulations and conduct.
The finalised timetable (with the date, time, examination venue and seat number) of the in-person examinations will be released by 8 December 2021 via Student Course and Record System (SCORE).

C. Regulations and Conduct
Please study carefully the “Regulations and Conduct of Examinations” in the Appendix D of HPSHCC Student Handbook 2021-22 (Page 89-95) (The softcopy of the Student Handbook can be found under “My Resources” of the Learner Portal). Students who fail to comply with the stipulated rules and regulations may receive a mark penalty or be disqualified from the examination.
D. Quick Access to SOUL during Assessment Period (17 December 2021 – 4 January 2022)
You can directly enter the SOUL 2.0 web address http://soul2.hkuspace.hku.hk in your web browser. Please refer to Appendix I for the step-by-step guidelines.
If you are going to take the online assessment, please access SOUL and enter the corresponding course page at least 15 minutes before it starts.
E. User Guides for Assignment, Quiz and Turnitin Assignment Functions in SOUL
Appendix II contains the user guides for Assignment, Quiz and Turnitin Assignment functions in SOUL. You are recommended to read through the user guides if you are not familiar with these functions in SOUL.
The user guides can also be found in http://soul2.hkuspace.hku.hk, under “SOUL 2.0 User Guide for Learner” of “User Guides”.
F. Guidelines to Students Sitting Online Assessment Using SOUL
You are recommended to read the “Guidelines to Students Sitting Online Assessment Using SOUL” (Appendix III) and get prepared before the assessment takes place.
G. Academic Integrity
The College expects students to complete all their assessments with the utmost academic integrity. Please be reminded that it is a serious offence to cheat in any type of assessments including examinations, end-of-term assessments, tests and course work assignments. Students shall not obtain or seek to obtain advantage in any form of assessment by having or seeking access to unauthorised information or materials or by copying or attempting to copy from, or by communicating or attempting to communicate with any parties. Moreover, students shall not impersonate other candidates, nor shall they permit themselves to be impersonated in any assessment.
To ensure the fairness of assessment, the College takes a serious attitude towards students who are found violating the regulations such as cheating in any type of assessments. Offenders will be subject to disciplinary action such as receiving a “Fail” grade for the course concerned, suspension of studies and legal proceedings taken by the College.
In this regard, you are advised to read carefully the Appendix IV for more details regarding academic integrity. Moreover, please be aware of all the regulations and rules including collusion and plagiarism stated in Section 6.14 of the HPSHCC Student Handbook 2021-22. Electronic copy of the Student Handbook could be found under “My Resource” of the Learner Portal.
H. Arrangements during Adverse Weather Conditions
Please refer to the table for the arrangements under adverse weather conditions as listed below:
(a) Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 (or above) is hoisted; or
(b) Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 will be issued within two hours as announced by the Hong Kong Observatory; or
(c) “Extreme conditions” after super typhoons are in force (announced by the Government before the Hong Kong Observatory replaces Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 with Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3); or
(d) Black Rainstorm Signal is in force.

Except special announcements are made by the College via the Learner Portal, all online assessments will continue as scheduled under all weather conditions, including situations (a) to (d) listed above.
Meanwhile, please pay close attention to the updated announcements posted by respective Course Coordinators/Lecturer via SOUL.

Under the adverse weather situations (a) to (d) listed above, the in-person assessments / examinations that have not yet started will be cancelled.
Further details can be found in Section 15.1 of the HPSHC Student Handbook 2021-22.
For in-person examination, in the event of cancellation of examinations due to adverse weather or unforeseen circumstances, the College may at its discretion to postpone or reschedule the examinations to a later date (tentatively between 5 and 8 January 2022 or to such day and at such other time and place subject to the availability of the examination venue.). Please pay attention to the College’s announcement via the Learner Portal as appropriate.
For in-person assessments, please pay attention to the updated announcements posted by respective Course Coordinators/Lecturer via SOUL.

I. Release of Assessment Results
The assessment results of Semester 1, 2021-22 will be released on 14 February 2022 (Mon) (tentative) via Student and Course Record System (SCORE). If you would like to apply for admission to the universities, you can submit the application forms and other required documents first before the deadlines and send the assessment results to the universities later once the results are available. Please refer to the notice which will be posted on the Learner Portal nearer the time.
