Dear Students, Teachers, and Alumni,
We are writing to inform you that the storage quota for your OneDrive accounts will be reduced from 1TB to 100GB for full-time students, and teachers, and 10GB for part-time students and alumni, starting from January 1, 2024. This change is due to the new policy of Microsoft for Office 365 Education plans.
We understand that this may cause some inconvenience for you, especially if you have stored a lot of files on your OneDrive accounts. Therefore, we recommend that you take the following steps to prepare for this change:
- Check your current storage usage on OneDrive and see how much space you need to free up. You can do this by following the instructions here.
- Delete any unnecessary or duplicate files that you no longer need.
- Move any important files that exceed your new quota to a personal OneDrive account or another cloud storage service. You can get a free personal OneDrive account with 5GB of storage here. You can also use other cloud storage services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud.
- Download any files that you want to keep to your devices. You can do this by following the instructions here.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Thank you for using OneDrive for your schoolwork.
Sincerely,
IT Services Unit
